This disco, our first Halloween disco ever, I think we had a lot of fun! Our new dj, Josi and the 'gang' were exceptionally good and I personally had a great time. So thanks guys!
Whilst Josi provided the entertainment, Nataly, Alice, Marlene, July and me were involved in providing food for the disco. This took a lot of planning and counting how much we will need to buy and worries that we may not sell of the food. Debating the best prices also took awhile but we had finally all compromised and agreed on 70 for sandwiches and 40 for the waffles which i think everyone found acceptable in the end. The process of buying the food and having to deal with the fact that some of the necessary materials were missing in the store gave a 5 minute panic attack until , with a considerable amount of teamwork (and a little arguing) we found the perfect substitutes. As a result we managed to do everything on time and under the budget limit!!!
We had made in total about 78 sandwiches and about 50 waffles - hopefully everyone enjoyed them- and we have sold all except for 8 sandwiches! I think thats a pretty good statistic to work with - I have done this before but it was great working in a team again like last year. And we didnt have the sushi stall to compete with this year so we had all the customers to ourselves :) It was fun: having to do loads of calculations and debating with Nataly over what ingredients to choose, having to go actually choose them and then debate over the fact that they werent the one we needed :) !
Cooking was definitely enjoyable mostly since we had so many people helping out!
I know that the saying says that too many cooks spoil the broth - but hopefully that was not the case with us!
We had managed to sell and clean up everything before the end so we had plenty of time still to enjoy Josi's great choice of music :) !!!!
Thanks to everyone who helped out with the disco and hopefully the next one will be even better (if thats possible of course :) ! )
