And another of our famous BISM International days has come to pass~ As always we have seen the unfaltering diversity of different cultures and their cuisines and hopefully we have all tasted them :) .
There were many activities for students to participate in except the Grand Feast :) , like quizzes and face-painting or even a temporary submerging into the culture of Korea or Lithuania where you could be taught to speak the language!
On my part , i have participated in the making of the flags so we could have the full range of different colors of our countries above our heads in the hall~It was fun planning the activity since I had count up all the different nationalities we had in school together with Nataly. We had separated into teams to make the counting at least seem easier :)
Yet this was a unique experience for me since though i knew that our school has many different nationalities I didnt expect to find so many! I think this day helped promote the idea that we shouldnt forget how much we can yet learn from each other - take language for one, talking to Jieun and taking her Korean Language activity had already equipped me for at least 15 minutes of survival in Korea! I feel like I got a small taste of Korean culture and now I want more ! So I guess studying Korean with Jieun will become my hobby!
If you asked me which nationalities we have in the school , it would be easier for me to say which we do not have, since otherwise I would be listing for a long time! I have also joined in the concert , with 2 songs, however I think that that isnt something i should be advertising
!!!
So many countries brought together under one roof gave everyone a chance to be more aware of other cultures, as well provided a unique opportunity for students to bond and trade information and interesting facts about their nations, mixing fun and startling discoveries in one bowl.
